The Silver Coast, or Costa Da Prata, is the subject of this podcast, in which Christina Hippisley, Editor of Portugal Magazine, and Adrian Mills discuss this little known but increasingly popular region of Portugal.

Famed and named for the way the light is reflected off the sea and its white sandy beaches, the area is now more accessible and attractive to buyers due to the recent opening of the motorway connecting the area with Lisbon and planning allowances for more development.

With prices generally 30 to 35% cheaper than the Algarve, the Silver Coast can still compare with more expensive areas of Portugal, with the market for off plan luxury properties and golf resorts currently covered by the established Praia Del Rey development and the newer Campo Real.

Traditional famhouse and village properties are also available in the region for those looking for a small (or large!) renovation project.
