Following the BBC’s Real Story programme broadcast on 31st January 2007, Adrian Mills is joined in the studio by Paul Owen, Chief Executive of the Association of International Property Professionals (AIPP) to discuss the effects on overseas property buyers.
The central issue of the programme is the sale of properties to British buyers without proper planning permission being obtained. This has left owners without connections to mains water and electricity, and some properties have been earmarked for demolition.
Paul examines the situation, the courses of action open to people who find themselves the victim of planning disputes, and how to avoid this situation in purchasing your own property overseas.
